Résumé : | The new 8th edition of the Inventory is timely, published during the European Year of Skills at a time when skills have never been higher on the European Union’s political agenda. The Year highlights the crucial importance of enabling all adults to take part in regular upskilling and reskilling over their working lives and the need to better value their skills. Validation has a key role to play in this. Validation is about opening up opportunities: opportunities for people to get better recognition for what they know and can do – leading to better prospects in work, or in their private lives; opportunities for employers or potential employers to tap into a wider pool of skills; and opportunities for us all to see people for who they really are and can be, and the contribution they can make to our society. |
