Résumé : | The profound changes affecting work, particularly in manufacturing, make heavy demands on operators and supervisors. But the continued workface cuts that accompany the reduction of the hierarchical ranks noticeably limit career possibilities. In such a context, the instruments of job management, notably classification systems, may prove to be increasingly outmoded. Recruitment criteria encouraging the hiring of young initial training graduates for each job level will only accentuate the "bottleneck" in the promotion and career systems. There is a need for new forms of mobility that would take into account the degree of technical and occupational expertise acquired by employees through their work experience. |
