Résumé : | Transformations in the French metalworking industries have given rise to numerous studies on employment and job content in metallurgy over the past decade. The following review of that research is based on a more extensive survey recently carried out in the context of a forecasting study commissioned by the government and the employers organisations in the metal working industries. A number of the studies deal with the transformations themselves, while others attempt to shed light on the problems encountered in recent years in two critical sectors by comparing conditions in France and Japan. |
