Résumé : | The article describes the leader-member exchange relationship that is gradually established between managers and newcomers during organizational socialization. Our research questions are: The objective of this research is to investigate whether the quality of the relationship that the supervisor is expected to build with new employees promote their socialization within the organization to improve their work effectiveness? Furthermore, how do new employees perceive the relationship that the supervisor is expected to build with them? To answer these questions we conducted qualitative research in the form of a guide interview with managers and new employees during the first months and years in the company. The results show the extent to which new employees; commitment to their goals increases with the provision of quality feedback by managers. Providing regular, quality feedback allows new hires to understand their current status in relation to goal achievement, thereby increasing their commitment. This exploratory research allows us to see that the quality of feedback from managers seems to be a major element of the LMX relationship that reinforces the adjustment process of newcomers to achieve their professional goals and experience a better integration. However, this research has some limitations such as the sample size which does not allow for generalization of the results. New protocols could accept a larger sample size to measure outcomes using quantitative scales. |
